The Watcher Urn: 0.08% in Numbers
What this page helps you decide: whether chasing the rarest reward is a realistic goal for the time you have
A 0.08% drop rate is easy to read and hard to feel. This page converts the published Gauntlet and Regular Endless reward tables into the numbers you can actually plan with: how many crates a rare urn takes, and how much more one pool pays per crate than the other.

What 0.08% costs in crates
At 0.08% per crate, the average wait for one Watcher Urn is 1,250 crates. Averages understate the spread, so the more useful figures are the confidence points: you have an even chance of seeing one within about 866 crates, a 90% chance within about 2,877, and a 99% chance within about 5,754. The Regular Endless equivalent, the TombStone Urn at 0.03%, averages 3,333 crates with an even chance around 2,310. Those numbers are what someone means when they say they spent six hours on a drop - not that they were unlucky, but that this is what the rate looks like from the inside. If your available playtime does not put a few thousand crates within reach, the urn is not a goal, it is a thing that may happen while you play for other reasons.
The two reward pools are the same shape with different amounts
Line the two tables up and something becomes obvious: the probabilities barely move. Garden Coins are 39% in both pools, Faction XP is 9% in both, XP is 3% in both. What changes is how much you get. Garden Coins pay 433 to 650 in Gauntlet against 240 to 360 in Regular. Faction XP pays 385 to 577 against 217 to 325. So the two modes are not offering different chances at the same things - they are offering the same chances at different sizes. That makes the comparison a straightforward multiplication rather than a judgement call.
Gauntlet pays roughly 1.75 times per crate
Multiplying each drop chance by its average amount gives the expected value per crate. Garden Coins come to about 211 in Gauntlet against 117 in Regular, a 1.81x edge. Coins come to about 50 against 29, a 1.71x edge. Faction XP is 43 against 24, a 1.78x edge. Voodoo Tokens are 0.20 against 0.105, a 1.90x edge. Every single line favours Gauntlet, clustering around 1.75 times, and that is before accounting for the reported faster crate rate. The one place Gauntlet gives ground is the Coins drop chance at 28% against 36% - but its larger amounts more than cover that, which is why the chance column alone would have led you to the wrong conclusion.
Gauntlet trades common currency for the one that is scarce
The only two probabilities that differ meaningfully are Coins, lower in Gauntlet at 28% against 36%, and Voodoo Tokens, higher at 10% against 7%. That is a deliberate swap, and it is a good one for most players: Coins arrive from every source in the game, while Voodoo Tokens come only from daily rewards, faction tree rewards and floor completions, and they are the bottleneck on curse rolling. Trading three percentage points of the abundant currency for three of the scarce one is worth more than the symmetry suggests.
When Regular Endless is still the right choice
None of this argues for playing Gauntlet before you can hold it. The comparison is between Gauntlet at wave 75 or beyond and Regular at wave 50 or beyond, so it only applies if you reach those waves consistently. A run that dies at wave 60 in Gauntlet earns from a worse pool than a completed Regular run, and the 1.75x edge is worth nothing if you are not collecting it. The honest test is whether you clear wave 75 most attempts rather than occasionally - if it is occasional, the reliable Regular clears are still ahead.
Step-by-Step
- Expect about 1,250 crates on average for a Watcher Urn at 0.08%.
- Budget 2,877 crates for a 90% chance, or 5,754 for a 99% chance.
- Compare pools by chance times amount, not by chance alone.
- Gauntlet wave 75+ pays roughly 1.75x per crate on every line.
- Only switch to Gauntlet once you clear wave 75 on most attempts, not occasionally.

Tips & Notes
- Comparing reward pools by drop chance alone would pick Regular Endless for Coins - the amounts reverse it.
FAQ
How rare is The Watcher Urn in The House TD 2?
0.08% per crate from Gauntlet wave 75 and beyond, which averages 1,250 crates and needs about 2,877 for a 90% chance.
Is Gauntlet or Regular Endless better for grinding?
Gauntlet pays roughly 1.75 times more per crate on every reward line, but only if you consistently reach wave 75. Below that, reliable Regular clears earn more.
Why does Gauntlet have a lower Coins drop chance?
It trades three percentage points of Coins for three of Voodoo Tokens, which are far scarcer and gate curse rolling.
