Floors, Maps & Horror DifficultyThe House TD 2 · Updated 2026-08-19
The House TD 2 is structured in layers: maps (House, Kitchen), floors within them (Floor 1, Floor 2), rooms within floors, and difficulty settings on top - with boss encounters gating your progress. The developer describes it as 'cursed floors, rooms and game modes'. Here is the confirmed map picture in the current early beta.
Step-by-Step
- Start on House. It is the first map and effectively the game's tutorial: forgiving pacing, the place to learn placement and speed controls.
- Treat Kitchen as your exam. Community guides consistently describe Kitchen as the step-up map that punishes unprepared squads - clear House comfortably before you queue for it.
- Floor 1 vs Floor 2: Floor 2 rooms are laid out more aggressively and enemies hit harder; a dedicated community video documents every Floor 2 room, its boss and rewards, confirming Floor 2 has its own boss and loot table.
- Expect boss maps: bosses appear in dedicated encounters - one documented run cleared the Floor 1 and Floor 2 boss maps with only 2 characters, so small squads CAN do it with the right units.
- Difficulty settings exist: Horror difficulty is confirmed (documented in a full Horror-difficulty boss clear). Higher difficulty means better farming but demands a settled loadout - do not queue Horror while you are still learning layouts.
- Anything above Floor 2 is unconfirmed: no source we checked documents a Floor 3 in the current build. If you see one in-game after an update, the game grew - check the update date.
Tips & Notes
- Enemy roster spans zombies, ghosts, shadows, demons and bosses (developer's own description) - expect faction-flavored threats as you climb.
- With 12-player servers, higher floors are much smoother in a coordinated group than solo.
