Nightmare Enemies: Borrowed Bosses
What this page helps you decide: how much health a Nightmare wave will bring before you enter the room
Nightmare enemies look like new creatures with unfamiliar names and enormous health bars. They are not. Every documented Nightmare enemy is an ordinary boss from elsewhere on the floor, multiplied by the Horror Mode factor of the room you happen to be in. Once you know that, their health stops being a surprise.

The rule, and the evidence for it
A Nightmare enemy health equals the normal-mode health of the boss it is named after, multiplied by the Horror Mode multiplier of the host room. Nightmare Funny Face appears in four different rooms at four different health values - 156,794, 275,378, 293,825 and 513,425 - and every one of them is 61,000, the normal Funny Face health, times that room multiplier. The same holds for Nightmare Ripper, Nightmare Freaky Frog, Nightmare Ravager Rabbit and the Nightmare Rat on Floor 1. That is more than a dozen values with no exceptions, which is why this is a rule rather than an observation.
The same Nightmare enemy is not equally dangerous everywhere
Because the multiplier belongs to the room and not to the enemy, Nightmare Funny Face is 156,794 in the Toy Chest and 513,425 in Ripper's Workshop - more than three times as large for the same named enemy. People reasonably assume a Nightmare enemy is a fixed threat and prepare for the version they last met. The correct question is never how hard is Nightmare Ripper, it is what multiplier is this room running. Establish the room multiplier from any single confirmed value and every Nightmare enemy in it follows.
Why the rooms with low multipliers get more Nightmare enemies
The Toy Chest runs the lowest multiplier on Floor 2 at 2.5704 and receives the most Nightmare enemies - four in a single wave. Ripper's Workshop runs 8.4168 and gets one. That is consistent rather than coincidental: the design appears to hold total room difficulty roughly constant, so a room whose own enemies are scaled gently is topped up with borrowed bosses instead. The practical warning is that a low multiplier does not mean an easy room. It means the difficulty is arriving in a different shape, as a grouped wave rather than a single scaled bar, and grouped waves are the ones that punish single-target boards.
Predicting a room you have no guide for
This is the practical payoff. If you find one confirmed Horror Mode value for a room - any enemy, from any source - divide it by that enemy normal health to get the multiplier, then multiply the normal health of every boss on the floor by it. That gives you the full range of what Nightmare enemies in that room could be, before anyone has published a guide for it. The two rooms on Floor 2 with no full documentation can be worked out this way from a single screenshot, and the same method will apply to Horror Mode Floors 3 and 4 when they arrive.
Step-by-Step
- Identify the room Horror Mode multiplier from any single confirmed value.
- Multiply the normal health of any boss by it to get its Nightmare version.
- Do not assume a Nightmare enemy has a fixed health - it changes per room.
- Expect low-multiplier rooms to compensate with more Nightmare enemies at once.
- Bring area damage to rooms that stack several Nightmare enemies in one wave.

Tips & Notes
- Never ask how hard a Nightmare enemy is - ask what multiplier the room is running, then multiply.
FAQ
What are Nightmare enemies in The House TD 2?
Bosses borrowed from other rooms on the floor, rescaled by the Horror Mode multiplier of the room you are currently playing.
Why does Nightmare Funny Face have different health in different rooms?
Because the multiplier belongs to the room, not the enemy. It ranges from 156,794 to 513,425 for the same named enemy.
Can I predict Nightmare enemy health for an undocumented room?
Yes. Divide any one confirmed Horror value by its normal counterpart to get the room multiplier, then apply it to every boss on the floor.
